[Verse 1]
Even though I know for benefit of other
Reaching for my mask as if for own protection
Something in my brain illogical dysfunctions
Believe what I want to – rational regardless
Don my paper mask – security blanket cling on to
Self deny my reason – cosy self deception

[Chorus]
Find believable lie I tell to my mind is fact absolute
Fear statistical proof of opposite truth
Make reality real – exclude evidence if flies in my face

[Verse 2]
Even though I know for benefit of own health (maybe)
Somehow think other protected by my two jabs
Even evidence admits may still spread COVID
Believe what I want to – rational regardless
Demonise those anti vaxers jeopardise my progress
Stick my vaccination passport up their noses

[Repeat Chorus]

[Instrumental]

[Verse 3]
Even though I know for benefit of no one
Us and them divide as if there’s only right-wrong
Contra points of view all crazy – ridicule them
Believe what I want to – rational regardless
Friend or enemy, for or against – embrace new normal
Yesterday forget my certainty rejected

[Repeat Chorus]

[Spoken Word]
You’d think we’d realise none of these things are really black and white. They’re all shades of grey, subjective points of view. Certainty in personal perception may be cosy, but honestly, can any of us claim we have the God’s-eye-view on any of these things?
