[Refrain]
What if not a fallen soul?
This suffering is not what think.
Your karma less about bondage
More divinity explored
[Spoken 1]
Religions – almost all of them preach we are here, suffering the pangs of disease and death, because of being wrongly situated in relationship to God. Some say we are born sinners, others we are banished here because we are envious of God, others say we are simply entangled in a cycle of rebirth because of attachment to worldly pleasures.
[Refrain]
[Spoken 2]
Although many Dharmic traditions tend toward the idea that the conditioned existence of the soul is without beginning, in other words not the result of some sort of fall from grace, at the same time none that I know of offer a positive reason for our situation here … at least not one consistent with an all perfect, all powerful, all intellegent, all beautiful, all loving God.
[Refrain]
[Spoken 3]
If one believes divinity of the self suggests that the soul is always worthy and beloved of God, then the suffering questions magically shift to ‘How does it serve me?’ ‘How does serve God?’ ‘What does it facilitate?’ Perhaps we wish to explore forgiveness or unconditional love and therefore an adversary or a troubled child in my life is a perfect arrangement.

[Instrumental]
[Outro]
I personally hold that suffering is not at all about reaction, punishment, or teaching us lessons, rather it facilitates collaborative divine experiential exploration. And just like the idea that I am not my body, this way of thinking changes everything. Yes, it is speculative. So I wonder if it resonates for you in any way? Even if it appears to contradict established wisdom?
