[Chorus]
No more make believe self deception
Bury head in sand wishful thinking
Bow to dogma blind authority
Name of spiritual sincerity
[Spoken 1]
Deferring to someone else’s reality. Placing trust in their vision and pronouncements. Choosing, on the basis of gut, charisma, sentiment, philosophical naivety, to accept theirs in place of one’s own. A blind leaping of faith, with no scope for objective validation.
[Repeat Chorus]
[Spoken 2]
Distrusting of direct experience … admitting own perception unreliable in terms of ones imperfect senses, tendency to illusion, cheating, or the making of mistakes … only to then embrace a subjective limited conditioned reality of another person in place of ones’ own.
[Repeat Chorus]
[Spoken 3]
To unquestioningly accept the argument that suffering in this world is absolute proof of wrong doing of the soul in relationship to God. That this world is therefore akin to a prison-house exclusively for the rectification of sinful souls that have fallen from grace. Nothing positive to be had here.
[Repeat Chorus]
