Yes, some physicians diagnose suffering and mortality as evidence of wrong-doing and banishment from the kingdom of God … and thus prescribe the ‘redemption’ remedy. While that is certainly an exhilarating treatment, for my part I suspect the situation here is more to do with God’s mysterious, perfect and beautiful plan facilitating varieties of viewpoints from which we can gaze upon and appreciate God and God’s energies. Do you prefer the fallen soul explanation? Do you prefer something more positive?
