David – the first of three children – was born in Kent (UK) to Yvonne and Ernest Kingston on November 19th 1959. In the sixties the family uprooted to the Somerset countryside to live without electricity or running water in an old farmhouse located on the edge of Exmoor. Aged 16 David formed a band ‘Early Daze’ with classmates at Minehead Upper school. After 6th Form the band was renamed ‘Helter Skelter’ … see therealhelterskelter.com for a collection of old recordings and photos.
From 1980 through to the mid 90s David was a member of the Hare Krishna movement.
In 1997, reconnecting with his pre-Hare Krishna self, David built a guitar with a neck completely inlayed with mother of pearl that he had seen in a dream.
Sometimes I imagine myself a traveller visiting from another planet … perhaps the same one that George Harrison came from 🙂 … taking birth on Earth to pursue and also try represent a spiritual / god-oriented way of looking at the world.
2017: David now lives in Bushey, England with his social worker wife Deborah, [oxford] and sons Bala and Rasa, maintains day job as a web developer, and writes / records songs in his home studio.
